Legacy Site: HTML5 and CSS3 site is coming soon

The new Wellington Visuals site is built with the latest web technologies and is viewed best in Modern, Standards-Compliant Browsers.
In Windows 7, or on Mac OSX Snow Leopard and above:

  • Safari, versions released in 2010 and later
  • Chrome, versions released in 2010 and later
  • FireFox, versions released in 2010 and later
  • Opera, 11.11 and above. Support for CSS3 blends is incomplete. Blend render with banding.

Site Construction

This site was constructed with the following software, scripting and coding languages:

  • PhotoShop, CS5 – Image creation, preparation, optimization and slicing
  • Illustrator, CS2 – Creation of background rules exported to PhotoShop for processing
  • xhtml – Hard coded. Strict xhtml, pages validated before upload. Code complies with W3C standards. Exceptions to strict html are pages constructed with framesets and iframes; the Frameset doctype was used for framesets. Frameset and iframe pages do not validate since it was necessary to use tags within the frameset or iframe tags to prevent the appearance of borders. Resize prevention was accomplished in the framesets by including code that does not validate
  • CSS 1, 2, and 3 – Hard coded. Complies with W3C standards and validates
  • DOM based javascript – Inobtrusive javascript is paired with the CSS to function within the divs and classes written into the xhtml

Site Navigation

Site navigation is very straightforward. The site is color coded by section, and the section color is used for each Table of Contents page. "Home" will always take the viewer back to the Home page. Navigation is organized as a cycle that reads from the top to the bottom. "Next" will always advance the site one page forward until the last page is reached. The target then points back to the first page. "Previous" reverses the order of pagination by stepping back one page until the first page is reached. "Previous" on the first page jumps to the last page.

Viewing Individual Samples at Full Size

The square thumbnails on the Table of Contents pages have descriptions of each sample that are activated by rollovers. Click on the thumbnail of interest. This will take you to the full-size display of the individual piece. In the case of multipage samples, there are additional control buttons within the sample window to facilitate navigation or to trigger a an automatic slideshow.

Section Division

This site was built as a portfolio of my art and design work. The technical construction of this site is a showcase of my coding and scripting capabilities. It is divided into the following areas:
